Vorum Poisoned Void Review at Zombie Ritual Zine

VORUM “Poisoned Void”

Woodcut Records/ Dark Descent Records

Well, well, well! What do we have here? It’s another holocaustic, full of darkness and sickness death metal band coming from Finland. They truly found the balance between the sound of the old school in Europe from the 90’s, and the modern style, you know: full of blackened and rabid guitar riffs, plus technique and nuclear lines. “Evil seed” is a perfect example of this blackened vibes coming from extremely aggressive guitar riffs and violent drums. The roots are noticeable, as they are a band from the north of Europe, and the music denotes this characteristic black miasma which exceeds the guitar riffs like a poisonous wall of sound. As I said before, these musicians constructed an excellent death metal through violence, darkness and rabid vocals. All tracks have their particular personality, and my favorite one is “Poisoned Void” which is a truly funeral hymn divided in different and twisted sections. Solid guitar riffs, holocaustic lines in melody, venomous mist descending for all over the track, what more could you ask for? This is an extremely great beginning of New Year, for death metal scene coming from the north of Europe. As extra info, the amazing cover artwork is from Alexander L. Brown. – Victor Varas
