TÚRIN TARAMBAR “Rzeczpospolita Czartowska”

Self Released

Well, I didn’t know anything about this Polish band until now, and I have to say that I’m quite impressed. It seems like they’ve been active since early 90’s, although they started to produce albums until 2010. Main composer Ataman Tolovy has been involved in bands like Stillborn and Genius Ultor, so he has strong knowledge and musical skills to manage extreme aggressive music. This band calls my attention because music sounds organic, cathartic and based on experimentation. I don’t mean that all this sounds improvised, absolutely not. All tracks are forged in bizarre structures, and direct production gives a particular taste. Also, almost all guitar riffs use different arrangements coming from jazz, alternative scales, open chords, etc. Distortion is fat, ugly and heavy like hell, and completes the concept very well. As aforementioned, this is a very interesting band and maybe some of you will find it very difficult to digest. Just give them a chance and you will hear some of the most catatonic and destructive atmospheres I’ve heard this year. – Victor Varas
