IMPRECATION “Satanae Tenebris Infinita”

Dark Descent Records

Those old warriors who have been active in underground death metal scene will be familiar with this name. Actually, the band has certain status because a couple of excellent demos back in the early 90’s, and they are near to be considered as a “cult” band.

This year they announced the return, and here you have it: a great album full of blasphemy, darkness and deadly lines. All track sound corrosive and totally drowned in blood, and what is more, the band doesn’t need to demonstrate to nobody that they are part of the pioneer sound of the genre. They truly sound tenebrous and obscured, and if you listen carefully, you will notice a particular perspective of what the genre is and should sound like. Don’t misunderstand me, the recording is pretty professional and denotes hours of work behind the table. I’m talking about the old feeling of putrid taste of metal, full of destructive guitar riffs and specific moments of brutality. These tracks are almost lack of guitar solos, and when they appear, are only on specific moments. As I said before, my hands are holding a great album of pure death metal, with musical knowledge and solid roots. There were many years of maturation for musical ideas, and the result is obvious. It’s a must have for death metal albums this year. – Victor Varas
