THE BLEEDING “Rites of Putrefaction”

Self Released

This is an independent band from Italy that simply will blow your mind. Apparently, they are quite influenced by old death metal bands, in the strongest American vein, and if you are fan of early Morbid Angel, early Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, etc, you will understand what I’m talking about.

I found excellent guitar riffs in extremely fast and overloaded drum sections, and it isn’t far away from brutality. Actually, the CD sounds pretty brutal in some specific moments but it also sounds balanced and with good roots on the most stinky side of the genre. If you ask me, vocalist Riccardo Marconato has a great throat for gutturals, and this is one of the major aspects of band’s personality. All in all, this is a great death metal EP and seems like all these guys have been involved in the genre for years. You can’t ask for more when there is a high level of musical maturity, excellent hooks, technique, and old school vibes. Ultra recommended! – Victor Varas
