TYRANT’S BLOOD “Coven”

Tridroid Records

This is supposed to be a compilation of all material from this Canadian black entity. Actually, I must admit that is my first contact with the band although I’ve seen the name in many underground lists out there. Yep, these motherfuckers are totally influenced by the most rancid, stinky and chaotic side of black metal genre.

If the name Blasphemy sounds familiar to you, this band will make you smile and move your ass up, especially in sections where music steps into chaotic territory. Everything is composed around sharpened guitar riffs and cathartic lines. Also, there is a punkish touch here and there, and that’s an aspect giving a particular personality to the recordings. My favorite tracks are from “Prophecy” EP, because it sounds totally sick and crude. There are some punk lines around, and it deserved all my attention. Great acquisition if you are into new Canadian black metal. – Victor Varas
