UNREAL TERROR “Hard Incursion”
Jolly Roger Records
Well, well, what do we have here? This is a reissue of a heavy metal album with obvious references from old NWOBHM, and it really will blow your mind if you love the style.
This piece of rusted metal was forged in 1986 and musically speaking, seems that guitar riffs are simple and in a very rocker way, if you know what I mean. Everything is tied by well achieved roots of Iron Maiden, but I’m talking about the old Maiden records, when Paul DiAnno forged a particular sound. If you ask me, this vocalist Benedetto “Ben” Spinazzola is quite influenced by Paul DiAnno, Jeff Tate, as well as old names like Angel Witch, Cloven Hoof, etc and he did a great job just looking for an own personality. The work of guitarist Mario “The Black” Di Donato is really remarkable in tracks like “At the end of the last Chapter”. It begins with a great piece of acoustic guitar and reflects different feelings and called my attention as the recording sounds direct and perfect for the song. For moments, music sounds too much simple and predictable, but hell yeah! Who cares? We are in 2014 and things have changed a lot in heavy metal genre. This is the kind of metal albums that deserved to be handed in vinyl format, if you don’t mind. – Victor Varas
