AMIDST THE WITHERING “The Dying of the Light”

Self-released

Everything was ok until the clean vocals appeared. How a fucking hate clean vocals in symphonic black metal bands! To be honest, the band sounds quite good and totally into the style of mainstream developed by Dimmu Borgir, Vesania, Old’s Man Child, etc.

This is melodic black metal with high doses of symphonic elements, dark atmospheres in keyboards, and narrative voices here and there. I think there is some classic instrumentation in some specific parts, but I can’t confirm this. The band was founded in 2000 but it seems like it has not been very prolific as they only have a previous album in 2005. Actually, I must say that all tracks sound good and quite professional. Songs deliver high quality and very well done musical arrangements in all instruments. But clean vocals, I really hate!. – Victor Varas
