Album Review DEGENERHATE Chronicles of the Apocalypse

DEGENERHATE “Chronicles of the Apocalypse”

Sliptrick Records

Coming from Rome, Italy, these guys composed a very decent debut album, as it’s full of heaviness and aggression. They mixed old school death metal with high doses of grindcore, but don’t expect childish wannabees here.

This is pure death metal with gore elements, low tuned guitars and good taste for putrid lines in the vein of American hardcorish grind metal. Actually, these guys have huge knowledge of death metal business as they’ve featured in bands like Desecration, VII Arcano, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Corpsegod, Corpsefucking Art, etc. So, you can imagine that the entire album was composed with high quality and almost all small details are pushed to the limits of the genre. Also, all tracks denote high musical skills as they include some excellent guitar riffs and solos. All in all, this is a well-balanced debut album and you will be plenty satisfied if you worship grind core, old school death metal and rabid punk, if you know what I mean. As extra info, this album includes two cover versions from BLOOD and FEAR OF GOD. Both highly recommended!! – Victor Varas
