Album Review LIGHTSABRES Demons

Lightsabers cover art

John Strömshed plays and writes everything here, and I’m sure that this Swedish guy has one of the most eclectic tastes in underground scene from Luleå.

All tracks are composed in an “alternative mood” which for moment sounds like rabid punk and for moments it sounds like indie rock or something. Certainly this guy made an honest effort for this debut album and added some interesting experimental elements, taking advantage of distinctive instruments, effects and atmospheres. Maybe you have to take it in a specific state of mind, which it happens with complex progressive music and with albums difficult to digest. This case is a blend of both things, and at my third encounter with the recording I must say that it’s not for me. – Victor Varas
