ILDVERDEN “Temnich black is me”

Satanath Records

This is the fourth record of the Ukrainian horde, and it’s my first encounter with them. Formed in 2007, these guys composed an almost monochromatic piece of black metal with pagan elements and high doses of chaos.

The band knows about ancient names in the genre, and has thick roots in Greek old sounds, as well as cold Nordic old beasts. Certainly these guys found an own peculiar sound after all these years working, and it seems like everyone in the band plays quite cathartic instruments. Also, I admit it called my attention because all tracks transmit the same darkened atmosphere full of painful guitar arrangements and venomous blast-beats drums. This band is a good addition if you collect interesting hybrids of chaotic black metal with high doses of paganism and darkness. It’s a shame I can’t read Ukrainian language. – Victor Varas
