INTERMENT “Scent of the Buried”

Dark Descent

After several split productions and an unnecessary compilation in tape format, in 2015, this authentic legend from Sweden finally released a superlative album.

Yes, I’m sure many of you remember this name in old printed fanzines coming from Europe, even before some members where part of bands like Centinex, Uncanny, Regurgitated, etc. This is an excellent album and an excellent example for what really should be Swedish death metal nowadays. All tracks are extremely direct to the bone and rooted in old punkish rhythms, if you know what I mean. I really liked it because beyond delivering poisonous guitar lines, this band transmits bad blood and high doses of morbidity in every note. There is not space for weak songs here; everything is perfectly tied by high octane guitar riffs, vertiginous sections, and completely mad vocal lines. Also, this is one of those metal albums that are forged in the purest essence of evil and darkness, and the band don’t need to demonstrate anything to anybody, as they perfectly know what the fuck is death metal. It’s highly recommended for old skull metal maniacs who worship incessantly death metal style from the North of Europe. One of the best I’ve heard this year. – Victor Varas
