KÖRGULL THE EXTERMINATOR “Reborn from the Ashes”

Ván Records

Don’t confuse the title of the album with the fanzine of Tony Juarez. This band preserves Punk influences, Motörhead influences and black metal roots.

For those who worship Bathory, Disaster, Sodom, etc, this Spanish beast returned with a fourth studio album highly recommended. All tracks sound frenetic, hard and nasty, as the band composed pure nightmare of thrash /black metal, fast like demons. Guitar riffs are completely insane, as well as the work of vocalist Lilith Necrobitch, who really sounds like possessed. I don’t think this band would fit in the new wave of “black n’ roll” bands. KTE has forged an own style, mixing some speed metal elements here and there, and they are totally proud of it, delivering superlative black blood and killer musical arrangements. Also, this album features Javi Bastard (Graveyard) on bass guitar, and it sounds absolutely awesome. It’s an example of pure and honest thrash/black metal with guts and rabid atmospheres. Old school? Of course, but they know the business. As extra info, this album contains a cover version of “Take this Torch”, original from Razor. – Victor Varas
