AD NOCTEM FUNERIIS “Satan’s March Black Metal”

Dude! Definitely, this is not the most original black metal album I’ve heard lately, but I have clear that the band don’t want to add or remove anything to the genre, musically speaking; but everything is carefully composed.

Coming from Bari, Apulia, Italy, these guys have influences of black metal bands from North of Europe, especially, Sweden. But I must say that they forged a particular perspective of chaotic extreme metal, and they know what they are doing!! All tracks are fast, hyper-aggressive and complex, which denote people trying to destroy the world with high quality guitar riffs and holocaustic structures. Also, everything is tied with epic elements, here and there, and cathartic vocal lines. If you ask me, this is a band that has many influences from big names in the genre like Dissection, Marduk, Dark Funeral, etc, but they know how to recover dark and ominous structures, with perennial guitar riffs and compulsive drum work. This is chaotic black metal with cold tunes and occultism elements, so you know what to find here. It’s highly recommended for those purists who still enjoy Swedish style reinterpreted by black metal bands nowadays. – Victor Varas
