SKELETON WOLF “Skeleton Wolf”
Self-released
This is an interesting black-thrash album coming from USA. The band takes the best from both genres and composed solid structures of cathartic thrash metal with high doses of metal spirit, and apocalyptic atmospheres (“Whatever Demons” track for example) if you know what I mean.
This band plays loud and with balls, definitely they know what they want since they are experienced people and recorded metal albums in the past. Sadly, this didn’t catch my attention more than three tracks, and in specific moments I found it repetitive and somehow predictive. I don’t want to spoil the party saying it’s a bad band. Absolutely not, actually they based the whole album in massive influences of heavy metal, as aforementioned. It’s not bad at all, but I think they should define a more consistent personality and stay away from mixing genres. Anyway, these guys have high musical skills and I’m sure they will close my mouth the next time. – Victor Varas
